HFTB Golf Tournament 2009

Homes for the Brave hosted its 5th Annual Homes for the Brave Golf Tournament on June 26. Guests enjoyed a barbecue lunch, golf, raffle, and silent auction before torrential downpours interrupted the festivities. Auction prizes included Boston Red Sox tickets for the 2010 season, a 3 three night getaway, Pavilion Tickets to the Travelers Championship, and golf for four at Oronoque Country Club, Redding Country Club, and Whitney Farms Golf Course. There was also a raffle for a 40" Toshiba Flat Screen HD television provided by Bernie's.

Many local corporations and individuals helped make the tournament a success. The annual tournament allows Homes for the Brave to continue its mission to end homelessness among America’s veteran population. With the funds raised from this year's tournament, Homes for the Brave will support its men's program and will also acquire a facility to house the new women's program, "Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes." In Connecticut, there are approximately 800 homeless veterans, including about 200 women; all of whom deserve equal services.

Homes for the Brave thanks all those individuals and organizations that made the 5th Annual Golf Tournament possible:
